Robert De Niro owed $1 million by The Weinstein Company – report

Robert De Niro is reportedly owed close to $1 million (£753,720) by executives at Harvey Weinstein’s production firm The Weinstein Company.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, De Niro has yet to be paid $940,706 (£709,457) for the 2012 movie Silver Linings Playbook, which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
The 74-year-old made the filing in The Weinstein Company’s bankruptcy case, joining a long list of other Hollywood stars who are keen to recoup their losses as the firm’s assets are sold to Lantern Capital bosses following the fallout from Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct scandal.
Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts each claim to be owed $168,611 (£127,162) for their participation in August: Osage County, while George Clooney is still waiting to collect $250,000 (£188,544) for producing the movie.
Brad Pitt is also allegedly owed $278,865 (£210,313) for 2012 thriller Killing Them Softly.
