Robert Plant gives into the ‘lure’ of creating new music

Robert Plant is preparing to release a new solo album after giving into the “lure and incentive” to create new work.
The former Led Zeppelin frontman, who hasn’t released a solo offering since 2014’s lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar, announced on Friday (18Aug17) that his new record Carry Fire will hit shelves on 13 October.
Explaining the reasons for his decision to drop another album, Robert said in a statement: “It’s about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the lure and incentive to create new work.
“I must mix old with new. Consequently, the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation.”
Robert’s fourteenth solo record will see him collaborate with stars including folk singer Seth Lakeman and The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde.
In addition to the album release, Robert will be heading out on a tour of the U.K. and Ireland in November.
