Roger Daltrey: ‘I’d like to have one final hug with late drummer Keith Moon’

Roger Daltrey would love to go back in time and hug his tragic The Who bandmate Keith Moon one more time.
The madcap drummer died of a drug overdose in 1978 after a disastrous studio session and a row with his model girlfriend, Annette Walter-Lax, and Daltrey regrets not being with his friend at the end.
“I would love to go back and have one last conversation with Moon,” the singer tells The Big Issue. “What would I say to him? ‘You silly f**ker!’ No, I don’t know whether I would say anything. I would just like to hug him.
“We loved him. We didn’t know about rehab in those days. We did our best with what little we did know, but it was hard. A good day out with Moon could be one of the best and funniest days in your life. A bad day out with him could be your worst nightmare.”
