Rolling Stones upset at Trump for song use

The Rolling Stones have made it clear they do not support Donald Trump after another of the rockers’ songs was used at the Republican National Convention.
The Republican U.S. presidential candidate has been using a number of the Stones’ hits on the campaign trail, and in May (16), Mick Jagger and his bandmates instructed legal eagles to stop Trump’s camp from playing their tunes in public.
“The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs,” a spokesman told Billboard. “They have requested that they cease all use immediately.”
The missive came after previous campaign rallies featured tunes like You Can’t Always Get What You Want and Brown Sugar.
However, Trump representatives seemingly ignored the warning, and proceeded to have You Can’t Always Get What You Want blared out of speakers as the Republican National Convention came to a close in Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday (21Jul16).
The Stones have since responded once again, taking to Twitter to write, “The Rolling Stones do not endorse Donald Trump. You Can’t Always Get What You Want was used without the band’s permission.”
The rockers aren’t the only ones angered with the Trump association – Queen, The O’Jays, Earth, Wind & Fire, and officials at both George Harrison and Luciano Pavarotti’s estates have all taken issue with the use of their songs during the annual political convention, where Trump formally accepted the Republican Party members’ nomination for President.
The business tycoon and reality TV star-turned-politician has repeatedly caused offence with controversial comments about Mexicans, Muslims, and women throughout his campaign.
