Ruby Rose accuses Prada of using her image on a handbag

Ruby Rose has accused Prada of using her likeness on a handbag design without permission.
The Australian actress and DJ is known for her ability to pull off just about any fashion trend and usually styles her dark hair in a distinctive crop.
However, Ruby has now taken to social media to share a short video comparing an image of herself in profile view to the picture of a woman in a similar pose splashed across one of the Italian fashion house’s spring/summer 2018 bag designs, which are printed with cartoon images in the vein of late pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.
“Kinda like this Prada bag that apparently is in no way any likeness to me at all even though the photographer of the photo sent me this and everyone keeps asking about it,” she posted on her Twitter page on Tuesday (12Dec17), adding sarcastically: “It’s a made up character with no inspiration from anyone in real life apparently.”
Ruby posted the original photo she believes the designers at Prada took inspiration from, which shows her gazing into the distance with her hair swept to one side and partly shaved. The 31-year-old added another comment, writing, “I’m obviously just super common looking. No big deal.”
The handbag in question was first unveiled at Prada’s show held during Milan Fashion Week in September.
When one Twitter follower asked whether they could get hold of one of the bags, the Orange Is the New Black star simply replied that they would have to go to a Prada store, and also claimed that she was considering creating her own version as a means of protest.
“I’ll make one, it will look the same because I’ll use the same photo, of my face but in vegan leather. A copy of a copy,” she added.
