Ryan Reynolds ‘kidnaps’ Fred Savage for Deadpool 2 re-release

Ryan Reynolds has ‘kidnapped’ former child star Fred Savage to promote his PG-13 Deadpool release this Christmas.
The actor has recreated his wise-cracking Marvel character for a new Once Upon a Deadpool ad, in which he and Savage recreate the latter’s The Princess Bride scene, in which he portrayed a sick kid listening to his grandfather read him a fairytale that becomes the beloved 1987 film.
“Fox has been asking for a PG-13 (version) basically since the start in 2006,” Reynolds told Deadline on Monday (19Nov18). “I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”
A family-friendly version of the Deadpool sequel with several scenes cut, and new ones shot with Reynolds and Savage, will hit theatres on 12 December (18). For every ticket sold, a dollar will go to the charity F*ck Cancer, which has temporarily been renamed ‘Fudge Cancer’.
