Sacha Baron Cohen’s gun-toting entrance at Cannes

The British funnyman has been attending a string of premieres and red carpet events as Admiral General Aladeen, the star’s latest madcap creation from his upcoming movie.

Dressed in a white naval jacket and tiny shorts, and wearing a huge fake beard, Cohen laughed and smiled for the cameras as he roared into the the dock outside the lavish Eden Roc hotel on a small yacht while wildly waving a fake gun in the air.

He then frolicked with Italian model Canalis on deck, rubbing sun cream into her legs before pouring champagne into her mouth. The pair then acted out a fake fight, which ended with the beauty disappearing and one of the character’s henchmen bringing out a ‘body’ in a black bag – which was then thrown overboard.

Cohen carried on his promo drive for a photo opportunity in front of the famous Carlton Hotel in Cannes, dressed in riding gear on the back of a camel, before falling backwards off the beast while surrounded by weapon-toting beauties in military uniform.

The funnyman famously caused a scene at the Oscars in February (12) when he dumped an urn of white powder on E! News host Ryan Seacrest’s tuxedo.

The annual Cannes Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday evening, and has attracted a host of famous faces, including Diane Kruger, Eva Longoria and Freida Pinto.
