Sting in talks for Super Bowl ‘tailgate’ show – report

Sting is reportedly in talks to headline a huge pre-game ‘tailgate’ concert at the 2018 Super Bowl.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column, the Roxanne hitmaker will perform with Shaggy at an event held before America’s National Football League’s (NFL) showpiece game on 4 February (18) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The two singers are also currently working on an album together.
An NFL insider told the newspaper the concert would not take place at the U.S. Bank Stadium, where two teams will battle it out to decide who wins the Vince Lombardi trophy.
American football fans traditionally host ‘tailgate’ parties in the parking lots around stadiums, serving alcohol and food from their cars. NFL bosses have reportedly lined up other star names for Super Bowl week gigs.
Justin Timberlake will perform at the main halftime show, with Pink singing the national anthem and Leslie Odom Jr. performing America the Beautiful.
Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Florida Georgia Line, The Chainsmokers, Imagine Dragons, Kelly Clarkson and veteran rocker Dave Matthews will also be performing at exclusive hospitality concerts.
Four teams are still in with a chance of playing in the Super Bowl, including reigning champions the New England Patriots and hometown team the Minnesota Vikings.
