Sting takes powerful psychedelic to rehearse for death

Rocker Sting has been “preparing for death” by taking psychedelic ayahuasca.
The former The Police star admits the drug, which is popular in South America, isn’t something he takes for fun – and he needs to build up his courage before taking it.
“I think it’s a way of rehearsing the feeling of being dead,” he tells Rolling Stone magazine. “Every time, I have to work up the courage to do it. You basically face your mortality, and it’s as if you’re dead, out of time.
“Your whole life passes in front of you in this other realm.”
Sting is confident his use of the psychedelic will prepare him for death so he can pass on peacefully when the time comes.
The 65-year-old explains, “Most people die in total panic. Terror. I think there’s another way.
“We’re supposed to die. There must be a way to die peacefully and welcoming.”
