Students spark terrorist fears while shooting student film on freeway bridge

Los Angeles police chiefs shut down a section of the Ventura Freeway on Sunday night (29Nov15) following calls from concerned motorists about terrorist activity on an overpass.
It turned out the teens dressed in military fatigues and carrying what appeared to be assault weapons were shooting an ill-advised student film in Agoura Hills, California.
Sheriff’s Lieutenant A. J. Rotella has confirmed the 101 freeway was closed for 10 minutes, as police officers apprehended the young men after ordering them to lay down their guns and walk with their hands up towards waiting law enforcement officers.
They were in possession of a replica assault rifle, replica handgun, military uniforms, cameras and a gas mask.
The suspects from Moorpark College were shooting a film as part of a school project.
A police spokesman tells Patch.com, “While the intentions of these two individuals might have been harmless, the fact that anyone would appear in a public place displaying a replica firearm is troubling. These two men put themselves and our community at risk.”
The young men were booked on three misdemeanour charges each and their bail was set at $15,000 (£9,400) each.
