Suge Knight hospitalised

Incarcerated rap mogul Marion ‘Suge’ Knight has been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital after falling ill behind bars.
The Death Row Records co-founder, who is awaiting trial for murder, was transferred to a medical facility from the Los Angeles County jail on Tuesday (03Apr18) to seek treatment for an undisclosed condition, according to TMZ.com.
He has been in and out of doctors’ care since he was arrested on charges of murder, attempted murder, and hit-and-run following a dispute in Compton, California in January, 2015.
Knight, 52, was last hospitalised in March, 2017 after struggling with blood clots.
At the time, he had been detained in solitary confinement and complained the conditions in jail had compromised his health, explaining he was still having problems after surviving gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and left forearm at a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party in 2014.
The news of Knight’s latest medical scare emerges days after he lost the 15th defence lawyer in his ongoing murder case.
Los Angeles County Judge Ronald S. Coen dismissed Dominique Banos from Knight’s team on 23 March (18), citing a conflict of interest.
Concerns had been raised about potential links Banos may have to an investigation into witness-tampering in the upcoming murder trial. Prosecutors have already indicted her former co-counsel, Thaddeus Culpepper, and another lawyer. Banos denies any wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, Knight has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges, but he will have to wait a little longer to fight the allegations as the judge also cancelled the previous trial date of 9 April (18), and scheduled a new hearing for May (18).
