Tamar Braxton quitting singing career to save her marriage

R&B singer Tamar Braxton is retiring from the stage in a bid to focus on saving her marriage.
The younger sister of Toni Braxton has been married to her manager Vincent Herbert since 2008, but the couple has been dogged by divorce rumours for the past year.
Last summer (16), Herbert insisted the pair’s relationship was “totally fine”, but now Tamar has acknowledged she needs time to work on their union, and she’s decided to hang up her microphone to do so.
“There are a lot of things that I want to do, and a lot of things that are in the works,” the 40-year-old told U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight. “There’s a lot of things that are going on in my relationship and me being close to this music industry, and whatever I can do to eliminate all of the stress and problems off of my relationship, I would rather do that (sic).”
Tamar, who shares four-year-old son Logan with Vincent, admits mixing business with pleasure has been tough on the couple.
“My husband and I work very close together and it’s really hard, you know?” she continued. “Not only do we work together, he is my baby daddy and, you know, we’ve been together forever. He’s my best friend. It’s a lot of things to discuss and argue about.”
The star, who also appears on U.S. reality show Braxton Family Values, is now determined to prioritise her personal life for the sake of her family, and although her new album, Bluebird of Happiness, will be her last, she still plans to continue writing songs for other artists.
“This is just my job,” she continued of her singing career. “When I go home, that’s my home. I always want to keep my home a sanctuary and somewhere safe. Not just for me, but for my husband and my kid.”
Tamar’s retirement news emerges months after she revealed she had suffered a secret miscarriage last year (16) and has since been undergoing in vitro fertilisation treatment in an effort to add to their family.
