Taylor Swift is 2016’s highest paid celebrity

Taylor Swift is the highest-paid celebrity of 2016, according to Forbes magazine officials.
The Shake It Off singer has earned $170 million (£131.2 million), thanks largely to her 1989 World Tour, which grossed more than $200 million (£154.3 million). Last year (15), she placed eighth with $80 million (£61.7 million).
Coming in at number two are the members of boy band One Direction, who earned a collective $110 million (84.9 million).
Other entertainers featured in the top 10 include comedian/actor Kevin Hart, who comes in at six with $87.5 million (£67.5 million), and U.S. radio host Howard Stern, who placed seventh with $85 million (£65.6 million). Adele also appears at number nine with $80.5 million (£62.1 million).
Kim Kardashian, who is featured on the magazine’s cover, pops up at number 42, with a $51 million (£39.4 million) fortune, thanks in part to her hugely successful mobile game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, which she launched in 2014.
She features on the front of the new Forbes magazine, and the reality TV star cannot contain her excitement.
“Such a tremendous honor to be on the cover of @forbes!” she writes on Twitter. “I never dreamed this would happen & (and) know my (late) Dad (Robert Kardashian) would be proud.”
Kim ends her celebratory quote with the sarcastic hashtag, “#NotBadForAGirlWithNoTalent”.
Meanwhile, Beyonce and Jay Z have been named the highest paid couple on the list. The Drunk in Love singer comes in at number 34 with $54 million (£41.7 million), while her rapper husband takes the 36th spot with $53.5 million (£41.3 million), bringing the couple’s total to a staggering $107.5 million (£83 million).
