The Who returning to U.K. with arena tour

Legendary British rockers The Who are returning to their homeland later this year for an arena tour.
The iconic 1960s mod band will perform shows at venues in Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham and Liverpool in August and September (16).
The dates, dubbed the Back To The Who Tour 2016 come after their The Who Hits 50! World tour, which began in 2014 and marked the 50th anniversary of the band’s formation in 1964.
Illness forced frontman Roger Daltrey to reschedule the North American leg of the trek last autumn (15), and the band had to cancel 28 dates. However Daltrey, who was suffering from meningitis, and the band’s other surviving founder, Pete Townshend, have now added to their punishing touring schedule with the new arena shows.
The veteran stars are currently fulfilling their rescheduled North American touring commitments, with their next gig scheduled for Winnipeg, Canada on Wednesday (04May16).
They will return to Britain to headline the Isle of Wight festival in June (16), and play in France and Spain before embarking on the new U.K. tour.
The Who will also be part of the Desert Trip festival in California in October (16), when they will team up with Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan to headline the inaugural weekend event.
