The West Wing was voted the best drama and Malcolm in the Middle, the best comedy by the Family Friendly Programming Forum, a consortium of advertisers. At the group’s third annual Family Television Awards Thursday, the group also named The WB’s Gilmore Girls (which it helped develop) as best new series and CBS’ Survivor, best alternative program. A lifetime achievement award was presented to the Hallmark Hall of Fame, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in January.
