Wu-Tang Clan sued over 2017 hit by 1960s trio

The members of 1960s band The Diplomats are suing the Wu-Tang Clan, accusing the rappers of ripping off one of their songs.
The three members of the group claim the Wu-Tang Clan’s 2017 hit People Say features the melody, lyrics and rhythm of their 1969 track I’ve Got the Kind of Love, adding “People Say” is a prominent lyric from their song.
In documents obtained by TMZ, the trio reveals fans noted the similarities between the two songs and brought them to The Diplomats’ attention.
They insist they never gave the rap group permission to use their music and are now requesting damages.
