Yoshiki donates 10 million yen for flood victims in Japan

Rock superstar Yoshiki has donated 10 million yen to help aid those hit by deadly floods in western Japan.
The X JAPAN frontman has handed over the charity cash, amounting to approximately $89,000 (GBP67,300) to the Japanese Red Cross Society through his nonprofit organisation Yoshiki Foundation America.
Yoshiki announced the news of his hand-out via social media, re-posting an article about the disaster in The New York Times, and adding: “I just saw the news in the U.S. and I pray for those who passed away. I truly hope the damage caused by heavy rain will not spread any more.”
It’s not the first time the rock star has dug deep to help the victims of natural disasters – in 2011, he donated 11 million yen – the highest bid on his personal crystal piano – to support Japanese earthquake relief and he also auctioned off his favourite drum kit in 2016 to benefit earthquake relief.
According to Blabbermouth.net, he also donated 10 million yen to help the victims of the earthquake disaster in Kumamoto and he handed over $25,000 to aid Hurricane Harvey victims in Texas. He later donated $100,000 dollars to the charity foundation MusiCares of The Recording Academy to aid hurricane victims in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.
Yoshiki founded his Yoshiki Foundation America in 2010 to support the children of suicide victims, like himself – his father took his life when the rocker was a child.
