Liam Payne’s relationship with Cheryl is ‘ridiculous’

Liam Payne still can’t quite believe his luck that he’s dating Cheryl.
The former One Direction singer has been dating the Girls Aloud star since December 2015 and the pair became parents to son Bear in March (17). While he’s completely content in his life, Liam admitted during a new interview with Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper that he still has to pinch himself, and can remember when he was just a “kid”, watching Cheryl on TV show The X Factor when she was launching her solo career.
“It’s a ridiculous place to be in,” he confessed. “She’s even more amazing than I thought. I was watching her do Fight For This Love (on The X Factor) when I was a kid, and now we’re together with a kid. I feel like I’m X Factor’s biggest winner.”
But being happy in his personal life has made another part of his life more complicated – namely songwriting. Liam added that his domestic bliss makes it hard to pen songs about difficult periods of life.
“I had a bit of a problem formulating what was going on in my brain into the music at first,’ he admitted.
“Because I was so content with everything in my personal life. It’s easy to spill your guts out on a ballad. But I was thinking, ‘Oh God, I’m really happy – what am I going to write about?!'”
As well as being blissfully happy, Liam also confessed that he is an old soul and that’s why the 10-year age gap between him and Cheryl, 34, doesn’t bother him. When One Direction fans were asked to put a mental age on the members of the band, they were all close to their actual ages apart from Liam’s – who was given a mental age of around 37.
“I’m extremely lucky. I feel like I’m in a comatose dream. I’m like, ‘when did I last bump my head?’ because I can’t believe this…” he gushed.
