Country star Eric Church has learned his brother Brandon died from chronic alcoholism.
According to an autopsy report obtained by TMZ, the singer’s sibling had a clinical history of alcohol withdrawal-induced seizure disorder, which triggered his death after years of binge drinking and trying to quit.
Brandon suffered multiple seizures before he died last year (Jun18) in Granite Falls, North Carolina, while he was on his way to the hospital.
His alcohol abuse also caused a thickening of his heart, coronary artery disease and liver damage, according to the autopsy.
Eric and his family have set up a scholarship memorial fund in Brandon’s memory.
The late songwriter penned a string of tunes with his brother.
