Grace Quigley writer dies at 85

Grace Quigley screenwriter A. Martin Zweiback has died.
He passed away on Saturday (23Apr16) in Santa Monica, California at the age of 85.
Zweiback landed his big break in the 1980s, when he famously caught the attention of Katharine Hepburn while she was visiting the home of his neighbour, director George Cukor. The writer brazenly threw his screenplay for the black comedy over the fence, earning him a phone call from the iconic actress herself just moments later. She went on to star in the 1984 film alongside Nick Nolte.
His other credits include Al Pacino’s first movie, 1969’s Me Natalie, which co-starred Patty Duke, and TV series like Kung Fu, James at 16, and The Paper Chase, reports Variety.com.
He also turned director for his 1971 movie Cactus in the Snow and Gorp in 1980.
