Jawbreaker reuniting for Riot Fest

Influential punk rockers Jawbreaker are reuniting for a one-off performance at the 2017 Riot Fest, 21 years after calling it quits.
The band rose to fame in the late 1980s and became icons of the emo music movement in the early 1990s, before splitting in 1996.
Singer/guitarist Blake Schwarzenbach, bassist Chris Bauermeister, and drummer Adam Pfahler are now preparing for their stage return after joining the line-up for Riot Fest in Chicago, Illinois as headliners.
A festival representative tells Pitchfork.com the gig is an exclusive get-together for the event, and the Jawbreaker stars currently have no plans for further reunion appearances.
The news emerges after Pfahler raised fans’ hopes for an official return last year (16), when he revealed the longtime pals had teamed up for a jam session.
“We weren’t sure if we could still do it,” he said. “We could still do it.”
Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age will also top the bill for the three-day event, which takes place from 15 to 17 September (17).
Other acts set to perform include New Order, Paramore, M.I.A., Wu-Tang Clan, TV on the Radio, Action Bronson, and Prophets of Rage, as well as a DJ set from Mike D of the Beastie Boys.
