Sexy Beast movie set for TV prequel

A prequel to Sir Ben Kingsley’s stylish 2000 British gangster movie Sexy Beast is heading to the small screen.
Paramount Network bosses have snapped up the rights to the 10-episode drama, based on the film in which Kingsley played a violent criminal trying to coax Ray Winstone’s retired thug to sign up for a heist.
The new TV series will focus on the origin story of Winstone’s Gal Dove and Kingsley’s Don Logan characters in London’s 1990s criminal underground.
Destroyer director Karyn Kusama has signed on to executive produce, while Jonathan Glazer will direct.
