Leave it to Twitter to know exactly what to do when we’re so frustrated with the political ecosystem in America that the only way to feel better is to laugh.
Twitter users created the hashtag #TrumpExplainsMoviePlots which summarize some of our favorite movies in only a way the orange-headed Republican candidate and former reality TV host could articulate. The results are hugely hysterical — or should we say yuge. Absolutely yuge. Donald Trump has a certain way of speaking, doesn’t he? It’s almost like magic, if magic was someone who looks like they’re an aging teen movie villain from the ’80s that still hasn’t retired from pushing geeks into lockers. O’Doyle rules!
No movie is safe from Trump-ification — we’ve got everything from Aladdin and The Lion King to Jaws and Mad Max — and we kind of, sort of, love it. Can Trump be a movie reviewer instead of a politician? We feel like his speak-your-mind (no matter how many times you change it) attitude would be way better suited towards reviewing films, or in the very least, being one of those anonymous trolls who post nasty things in the YouTube comments section and think their opinion somehow matters.
