Austin City Limits bosses pay beautiful tribute to Tom Petty at festival

The organisers of the 16th annual Austin City Limits Music Festival paid a very special tribute to Tom Petty on Saturday night (07Oct17) with the help of skydivers.
As the late rocker’s Free Fallin’ was blasted through the festival site’s speakers, three skydivers jumped from a low-flying plane lighting up the sky as they glided to earth.
There was also an onstage tribute from Red Hot Chili Peppers, who performed a cover of Petty’s A Face in the Crowd, after frontman Anthony Keidis declared, “Tom Petty, if you’re looking down, this one’s for you, brother… you did not die in vain.
Petty passed away on Monday (02Oct17) after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 66.
