Gloria Allred: ‘I’ll take on my own daughter if Harvey Weinstein accusers need me’

Celebrity attorney Gloria Allred has threatened to go up against her own daughter if anyone accusing film boss Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment needs her counsel.
Allred has become a champion of sexually abused and harassed women in recent years and she is currently representing women who have filed complaints against President Donald Trump and Bill Cosby, as well as Kevin Hart’s sex tape partner.
And she is willing to take on her daughter Lisa Bloom, who is Weinstein’s attorney, if any of his accusers need legal help.
“Had I been asked by Mr. Weinstein to represent him, I would have declined, because I do not represent individuals accused of sex harassment,” Allred says. “I only represent those who allege that they are victims of sexual harassment.
“While I would not represent Mr. Weinstein, I would consider representing anyone who accused Mr. Weinstein of sexual harassment, even if it meant that my daughter was the opposing counsel.”
Weinstein has taken a leave of absence from The Weinstein Company and apologised for his past bad behaviour following the publication of a New York Times expose about his alleged decades old sexual harassment.
He is planning to sue the Times for inaccuracies in the story.
