Laugh-In star Arte Johnson dead at 90

Funnyman Arte Johnson has died after a battle with bladder and prostate cancer.
The Emmy-winning actor and comedian, who rose to fame on hit sketch show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In in the 1960s and 1970s, passed away from heart failure in Los Angeles on Wednesday (03Jul19). He was 90.
On the comedy series, he portrayed the character Wolfgang, a German soldier who believed World War II had not ended, and dirty old man, Tyrone F. Horneigh.
Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Johnson began his career performing stand-up comedy in New York City nightclubs. His credits include roles on Hennessy, The Twilight Zone, Bewitched, Lost in Space, and The Partridge Family.
He also lent his voice to cartoon shows Animaniacs and Ducktales.
