Busy Philipps and Colin Hanks dated in college

Busy Philipps had an “awkward” reunion with her ex-boyfriend Colin Hanks during an interview for a U.S. breakfast show on Tuesday (31Jan17).
The actress was guest hosting Live! with Kelly and Hanks appeared on the show to promote his new documentary, Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends). During the opening segment of the show, Philipps revealed she dated the star for several years during college.
“We are very, very close friends now,” she said. “His wife (Samantha Bryant) and I are very tight. He and my husband (Marc Silverstein) hang out. But we dated for a long time, actually. He’s really excited that I am here co-hosting!”
Colin later joined Kelly and Busy on stage and joked, “It’s not awkward going on national television and being interviewed by your old, college girlfriend. That’s not weird at all!”
Kelly then asked the pair why they broke up.
“We were young, we were babies,” Busy replied. “We met 20 years ago! I do have moments where I think how cool that we knew each other at this formative moment in our lives and are still so close.”
“We got our first television show the same week,” Hanks added. “We got our first movies within the same week. We were able to go through these really special moments in young actors’ lives together. Now we also get to do morning school drop off together! Our kids are in the same school.”
