Actor Tom Hollander is reportedly set to star in and produce a remake of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.
The Night Manager star will play bell-ringer Quasimodo in the film, and according to Deadline, Hollander will develop the project under his Bandstand Productions company.
War and Peace writer Andrew Davies has been hired to adapt Victor Hugo’s classic tale for the screen.
The project is in early stages and TV bosses are reportedly searching for U.S. and French co-production partners.
Hugo’s novel has been adapted several times for the big and small screens and stage, with Anthony Quinn, Charles Laughton, and Mandy Patinkin among those who have brought bell-ringer Quasimodo to life.
