Jennifer Lopez has been sued for $10,000 (GBP6,250) by a man who claims the actress persuaded him to send her naked pictures through the mail. Rodrigo Ruiz filed a lawsuit against the Selena star in Los Angeles, alleging she began professing her love for him and asking him to send the saucy photos in a series of letters in 2008.
He also claims she asked him to send her a demo CD in order to help him launch a music career.
Ruiz explains that he never heard from Lopez again after he sent everything to her, and he insists it sent him into a deep depression, for which he sought professional help.
However, the letters appear to be part of a scam and not from Lopez – the address from which they were sent were traced back to a 53-year-old California woman, who claims she runs a Jennifer Lopez fan mail exchange.
A representative for the actress tells TMZ.com, “This is a small claims matter that appears to be a desperate attempt for notoriety. Ms Lopez has never seen or met the plaintiff, nor has she ever communicated with him. We believe this matter should be summarily dismissed.”
