Charlize Theron to receive prestigious American Cinematheque Award

Charlize Theron is set to be honored with the 2019 American Cinematheque Award.

The 43-year-old actress, producer and humanitarian was selected by the non-profit arts organization for her efforts as an “extraordinary filmmaker in the entertainment industry”.
Announcing the star as the recipient of the prestigious accolade, American Cinematheque chairman Rick Nicita said Theron was the unanimous choice of their board of directors.

Charlize Theron is making a significant contribution to the art of motion pictures while breaking through outmoded limitations on what an actress and producer can do,” he gushed. “It is obvious from her career that her immense talent cannot be categorized or confined.”
