Ethan Hawke adds cryptic family message to Hollywood pavement honour

Ethan Hawke left a cryptic message in the cement after making his mark on Hollywood Boulevard on Thursday (08Jan15), writing ‘M.I.R.C.L.E’ next to his hand and foot prints. At first many onlookers thought he had misspelled ‘miracle’ but it appears the note was a personal message to his family: daughters Maya, Indiana and Clementine, son Leon, wife Ryan and himself.
The Boyhood star was clearly overcome by the big honour and told fans, bystanders, family and friends, “I’m as honoured as a person could be right now. I haven’t prepared what to say, only because it means so much. To be a part of that legacy and be a member of that community is all that I’ve ever wanted… I’m so excited for the future and I’m so grateful for the past.”
He was joined by his Boyhood director Richard Linklater, producer Jason Blum and Predestination co-star Sarah Snook at the salute.
Honouring his friend, Linklater said, “It’s been my greatest honour and pleasure and the greatest collaborator of my life that anybody could ever have is working with Ethan Hawke eight times.”
