The longtime BBC regular passed away after suffering a stroke last month (Nov12).
Born in India, Kendall was the first newsreader to appear on BBC television in 1955. He became the face of the network’s BBC Nine O’Clock News in Britain in the mid-1970s.
The broadcaster also had a cameo role in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
