Once upon a time, Andrew Lloyd Webber has produced yet another hit musical with Bad Cinderella. Here’s everything we know about this genre defying musical set to hit Broadway March 23rd.
The Story of Bad Cinderella
The Bad Cinderella official website describes the story as:
“In the exceptionally beautiful kingdom of Belleville, the fields are idyllic, the prince is charming, and the townsfolk are ravishing. Only one stubborn peasant stands in the way of absolute perfection: Cinderella. To the flawless residents and royals of Belleville, this damsel IS the distress.”

The On-stage Talent
The producers announced the full cast this past week, and the stars of this new musical is sure to delight Broadway fans. Linedy Genao has been cast as the titular Bad Cinderella. Also in the cast: Carolee Carmello will play the Stepmother, Grace McLean as the queen, and Jordan Dobson as the young heir Sebastian. Last but not least, Morgan Higgins will the stepsister Marie; Sami Gayle as stepsister Adele; and Christina Acosta Robinson as the Godmother.

The Creative Minds Behind Bad Cinderella
The story is from the mind of Andrew Lloyd Webber, one of the biggest name in Broadway. He has composed 21 musicals, such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Cats. The original story and book is written by Oscar-winning writer Emerald Fennell(Promising Young Woman, Killing Eve). The lyrics by Tony Award winner David Zippel (City of Angels). Joann M. Hunter (School of Rock) is choreographing. Finally the crew is rounded out with Laurence Connor (Les Misérables, School of Rock) as director.
Bad Cinderella previews begin February 17 at Imperial Theatre, and the show opens March 23.
