The Office star Catherine Tate is set to appear in a British version of beloved American sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. Comic Lee Mack will tackle Ray Romano’s role of a successful sportswriter who lives across the street from his meddling parents and brother, while Tate will play his long-suffering wife.
The pilot of The Smiths, which will be set in Cheshire, England, will be filmed on 28 May (13).
Everybody Loves Raymond was a huge hit during its run between 1996 and 2005, winning 15 Emmy Awards and making household names of Romano, Patricia Heaton and Doris Roberts.
