Brian Duffy’s Bowie portraits to be shown together for the first time

Late photographer BRIAN DUFFY’s sessions with DAVID BOWIE from 1972 to 1980 are to be exhibited together for the first time in Los Angeles next month (May15).
Duffy was Bowie’s go-to photographer throughout the 1970s and he captured the enigmatic rocker as Ziggy Stardust and for the albums Aladdin Sane, Lodger and Scary Monsters.
He also shot Bowie in July, 1975, while the Let’s Dance hitmaker was filming The Man Who Fell to Earth.
Duffy’s Bowie work has been exhibited before but photos from all five of his sessions with the rock legend have never been displayed together – until now.
Mr Musichead Gallery will host Duffy Bowie: Five Sessions from 2 May (15) and the launch on 1 May (15) will be co-hosted by Martin Samuel, the award-winning hair stylist who worked with Bowie on the set of The Man Who Fell to Earth, and Duffy’s son Chris.
Brian Duffy died in 1980, aged 76.
