Maxwell took his entertainment career beyond the basketball court and into the action-packed arena of entertainment. Maxwell worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "12th Annual Soul Train Music Awards" "Love Jones" with Larenz Tate (1997) and "R & B '97: Year in Review" (1997-98). He also contributed to "Soul Train Music Awards: 11th Anniversary" (WB, 1996-97), "The 1997 MTV Video Music Awards" (MTV, 1997-98) and "The 39th Annual Grammy Awards" (CBS, 1996-97). In the nineties, Maxwell devoted his time to various credits, such as "The 1998 Essence Awards" (Fox, 1997-98), "The 40th Annual Grammy Awards" (CBS, 1997-98) and "Life" with Eddie Murphy (1999). He also worked on "The Best Man" (1999) starring Taye Diggs.
