Memphis Bleek bankruptcy case dismissed – report

Rapper Memphis Bleek is reportedly no longer facing bankruptcy after his case was dismissed in a New Jersey court.
The Is That Your Chick? star, real name Malik Cox, reportedly lodged the legal papers in U.S. Federal Court in March (16). In the filings, Memphis stated his assets totalled $274,200 (£210,500), but his liabilities stood at $385,000 (£295,600).
In addition to the bankruptcy, Memphis Bleek’s Keyport, New Jersey home was in foreclosure. According to Bossip.com, the 38-year-old owed $335,000 (£257,210) on the house, but it is only worth $250,000 (£192,110). It was scheduled to be auctioned at a sheriff’s sale at a starting price of $308,200 (£236,835) in September (16), but it is unclear if the home will still be sold.
The bankruptcy case was still pending in the court while Cox worked out a payment plan with his creditors, but on Monday (08Aug16), it was dismissed after the 38-year-old reportedly missed a confirmation hearing.
Memphis Bleek, who has yet to comment on the latest development, has experienced financial issues in the past – in 2007, he was reportedly hit with a federal tax lien for $37,750 (£29,010), but it was subsequently settled.
