Biography

A charismatic actor-musician, Ronn Moss went from topping the charts to setting daytime drama-loving hearts aflutter. Born March 4, 1952 in Los Angeles, Ronald Montague Moss grew up immersed in music and was one of the founding members of the band Player, who scored the enduring No. 1 hit, "Baby Come Back" in 1978. As the band's bassist and backing vocalist, Moss toured the world and built up a fanbase, but as Player's momentum slowed, he found another creative outlet in acting, making his screen debut in the Italian historical fantasy "Hearts and Armour" (1983). Blessed with good looks and, arguably, the world's best cheekbones, Moss was cast as Ridge, the sexy but spoiled eldest son of the central Forrester clan on the soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" (CBS, 1987- ). A talented designer and ladies' man who, after undergoing decades of soapy drama, developed into a kinder, gentler hunk, Ridge was one of the most beloved characters on the series, earning Moss six Soap Opera Digest Award nominations. Building on his success and international stardom, the actor continued to write, record and perform music and to make appearances both off- and onscreen, including lending his voice to the animated Disney adventure "Bolt" (2008). In 2012, Moss made headlines when he chose to leave "The Bold and the Beautiful," sad news indeed for fans who had enjoyed seeing him in every episode since the soap's debut.
