Semisonic eyeing reunion

Semisonic frontman Dan Wilson is considering reuniting with his former bandmates for a new album after 12 years. The American rock band enjoyed hits with Closing Time and Secret Smile in the late 1990s, but stepped out of the spotlight in 2001 by taking an hiatus.
Lead singer Wilson has now hinted that the trio could get back together and even release new music.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “It (the hiatus) wasn’t a planned-out thing. I get together with (bandmates) John (Munson) and Jake (Slichter) periodically and we do shows and we hang out. I’m not closing any doors.
“I think that would be cool (to make another album). I just have to figure out how to do that kind of song, and it might not be that complicated to figure that out… I think it needs to be different (from my solo work). There’s a particular chemistry or personality or vibe that happens with those guys.”
Wilson has kept busy since parting ways with the band – he’s co-written hits such as Adele’s Someone Like You and Dixie Chicks’ Not Ready to Make Nice.
He was recently nominated for a 2014 Grammy award for Album of the Year thanks to his work on Taylor Swift’s Red album.
