Wilco got into legal trouble following the release of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot for sampling recordings of mysterious "numbers stations" from a documentary album called The CONET Project; a settlement allowed that album to be re-pressed in larger quantities.
Wilco members John Stirratt and Pat Sansone also formed a band called The Autumn Defense that explored a quieter sound influenced by 1970s soft rock.
