Queens of the Stone Age cancel festival set due to injury

Queens Of The Stone Age have pulled out of an upcoming festival appearance due to injury.
The No One Knows rockers were due to perform at Outside Lands festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California on 12 August (17) but customer service representatives for the event announced they would no longer be attending on Twitter on Monday night (31Jul17).
“Due to injury, Queens of the Stone Age’s previously announced appearance August 12 at Outside Lands has been cancelled,” they wrote. The band later retweeted the message and added, “Queens apologise for any inconvenience & we look forward to returning to the Bay Area at a later date.”
Cage The Elephant have been drafted in to replace them at the festival.
Queens of the Stone Age, made up of Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and Jon Theodore, were also due to perform at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, California two days before Outside Lands, but that has been cancelled too.
The band did not go into more detail regarding the injury. WENN has contacted their representatives for comment.
The cancellation comes just weeks before the release of their upcoming album Villains on 25 August.
