Pokemon Go recently introduced a whole bunch of new incentives for playing the game, but it’s looking like we’re going to get something even more exciting — 100 more Pokemon!
The Silph Road, a Pokemon site, looked into the APK of the newest Android version of Pokemon Go. Hidden in the latest update’s code are placeholders for the next generation of Pokemon. For those of you who graduated onto Pokemon Gold and Silver, you’re probably already familiar with Pokemon from the Johto region. For those of you who aren’t familiar, they’re the first round of new guys since the original 151.
For those of you who have been missing a certain flubbery, purple Pokemon, we have some major hints that Ditto is in fact coming to the game. The Silph Road also found the new move “transform” hidden in the update’s code. We’re guessing that this has to be for Ditto because it can’t battle without it. Ditto can only deal damage after it transforms into its opponent and copies their moves. It must’ve taken Niantic a bit of time to develop because the graphics are a bit different than every other Pokemon’s standard attacks.
This is all major news. While the Pokemon aren’t in the game yet, it was only a matter of weeks from when The Silph Road found the coding for the buddy system to when the buddy system actually launched. We’re hoping to see Pokemon #152 through #251 pretty darn soon, though no moveset data is currently listed in the code, so we’re probably going to have to wait a while. Here’s hoping it’s not too long.
