Alec Baldwin re-activates Twitter account to reach out to grieving comic

Alec Baldwin resurfaced from his self-imposed Twitter.com exile to pass on his condolences to comic Sarah Silverman, who has been left devastated following the death of her beloved dog. The U.S. funnywoman told fans on Wednesday (05Sep13) that Duck, her 19 year old chihuahua-pug mix who had appeared on The Sarah Silverman Show with her, had passed away.
In a blog, she wrote, “He was a happy dog, though serene. And stoic. And he loved love… I held him and kissed him and whispered to him well past his passing.”
Fans bombarded the star with messages of condolence, and the obituary even moved Baldwin, who has been offline following a rant against a reporter in June (13), to re-activate his Twitter account.
In the solo message, he wrote, “For SarahKSilverman, who turned the dial on my day to the right frequency”. He then added a picture of his own two pet dogs.
The 30 Rock actor closed his account on the social networking site after launching into a homophobic rant against a Daily Mail journalist, who claimed that his wife, Hilaria, was using the social networking website during James Gandolfini’s funeral. Baldwin later apologised for using the terms “toxic little queen” and a “lying little b**ch”.
