Amy Schumer left a huge $1000 tip for bar staff at the musical Hamilton on Broadway.
The comic superstar and boyfriend Ben Hanisch were in New York to see the popular show on Saturday night with friends and were clearly feeling in a generous mood.
The Trainwreck star, who recently returned from a romantic holiday with her furniture designer boyfriend, ordered a round of drinks totalling $77 (£54) for herself and her pals to enjoy.
Employee Madeleine DeJohn, told E! Online:”Our house manager gave us her order before the show and we filled it.
“Then at intermission, a member of her party came to the bar with another order and when he handed the receipt to my co-worker, he said ‘Amy wants to make sure you get this.’ My co-worker looked at it and didn’t know what to say,” she added.

Amy had added a $1,000 (£700) to the drinks bill for the waiting staff. Madeleine gushed, “We’ve served a lot of celebrities at Hamilton and we’ve received some nice tips but never before had I seen a tip that even came close to this one.
The thrilled bartenders took to Twitter to share their thanks for Amy’s good deed. Madeleine tweeted: “And then Amy Schumer comes into your work and does something amazing!”, sharing an image of the tip, and tagging it Hamilton and Amy Schumer. The six employees working that night, all aspiring actors, split the $1,000 tip between them.
Amy has a track record for leaving large tips. Last year she handed a $500 bonus to a struggling student waiter at Peter’s Clam Bar in New York (15).
