News flash to all those avid Harry Potter fans: there could be an extra book about that favorite boy wizard.
Author J.K. Rowling has always maintained she would be ending the Harry Potter saga after seven novels. Yet, according to London’s The Scotsman, Warner Bros. registered three additional Potter titles at the U.K. Patent Office Monday, indicating the possibility of an eighth volume.
Reuters confirmed the U.K. Patent Office database did indeed register the following three new titles: Harry Potter and the Alchemist’s Cell, Harry Potter and the Chariots of Light and Harry Potter and the Pyramids of Furmat.
But don’t get your hopes up quite yet. Reuters reports Rowling has dismissed speculation about an eighth installment and her agent told reporters that none of the registered titles will be used for a book.”The plan is to have only seven books in the series,” Neil Blair, of Christopher Little literary agents, told Reuters. “There is no truth to the rumors.”
At the moment, Rowling is nearing completion on the long-awaited fifth installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, whose title was registered in October 2000.
Warner Bros. will release the second Potter movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Nov. 15.
