Miller, who wed Rogen last year (11), is set to make a splash in upcoming movie For A Good Time, Call…, which she also co-wrote, and she adopted the more informal approach of sending notes to recruit stars to make cameos in the film.
She managed to persuade her Zack and Miri Make a Porno director Kevin Smith and Role Models comedian Ken Marino to shoot small parts for the project, but it was her mail exchange with Graynor which moved her to tears.
She tells New York Magazine, “I tried to be funny in those letters, but the letter I sent to Ari was more emotional, about how I’ve admired her work for years, and she has this incredible ability to be over-the-top funny yet retain this vulnerability and sexiness, even if she’s pulling gum out of a toilet.
“She sent me a letter back that made me cry. I couldn’t even sit down while reading it, because I was bawling all over the place: ‘Oh my god, someone believes in me.'”
Rogen also landed a role in the film, about two girls who start a phone sex line. He voices the part of a saucy airplane pilot.
