Australian festival scrapped after venue change irks fans

A top Australian music festival has been scrapped ahead of its 15th anniversary after fans reacted badly to a change of venue. The Homebake event was set to be staged over three days at the Sydney Opera House and the surrounding area in December (13) rather than at its usual spot at The Domain, a huge open space in the city.
Acts including Birds of Tokyo, Paul Kelly and Architecture In Helsinki were set to take to the stage over three days, but organisers have now decided to cancel the event due to poor ticket sales.
Announcing the news on the festival’s website, a statement reads, “Over the last 4 weeks since the initial launch of Homebake 2013, it has become apparent based on the feedback from social media sites and the box office that the traditional Homebake fans have rejected this change in format from one day to three nights and the change in venue.”
