British rocker Bez is nursing a painful groin injury after he was stung on the privates by a swarm of bees. The Happy Mondays percussionist is building a new career as an apiarist but he learned an agonising lesson in the art of beekeeping after tending a hive with his trouser zip undone.
The star, real name Mark Berry, tells NME magazine, “I got stung where you would never want to get stung – quite a few hits as well. It hurt – a lot.”
Bez announced earlier this year (13) he has joined a campaign to boost Britain’s bee population and urged fans to help by sowing seeds in their garden to encourage the flying insects to nest.
