Chas & Dave’s drummer dies

The longtime drummer for cult British singing duo Chas & Dave has died. Mick Burt passed away on Saturday (18Oct14) after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia.
He joined the group in the mid-1970s when he teamed up with pianist/vocalist Chas Hodges and bass player Dave Peacock.
The percussionist played on the band’s biggest hits and they even wrote a song for him titled Give It Some Stick Mick.
Burt’s son Tony tells Britain’s Daily Star Sunday newspaper, “The stories he told us will stay with us forever. He performed with loads of big stars, the Beatles, Bo Diddley, 10CC and Eric Clapton, just to name a few. I loved watching him play and meeting them all. He loved music and it was great to see him doing something he was so good at and enjoyed so much. We have nothing but great memories of my dad, he will be missed. We want to say a big thank you to his fans who have supported him over the years.”
