Collins explains Allen party snub

The Smile hitmaker was taken aback when she tried to give the Dynasty star a friendly kiss after being introduced to her at a celebrity bash in 2009 – and was re-buffed.

She took to her Twitter.com page to tell fans of the run-in, writing, “OMG (oh my God), was just introduced to Joan Collins. Shook her hand and went to kiss her on the cheek. (She said) ‘I don’t kiss people I don’t know.’ AMAZING!”

Now Collins has revealed she refused to let Allen get too close because she had no idea who she was.

She writes in Britain’s Daily Mail, “Too many people today are over-familiar. At a party a couple of years ago, a girl dashed forward to greet me in hug’n’kiss mode, her arms outstretched.

“I had no idea who she was, so I took a step back and said: ‘Sorry, I don’t kiss people I don’t know.’ The girl was Lily Allen, whom I had never met before.

“Later that night she went on Twitter to report I had blanked her, and by the next morning, friends in America were emailing me about this complete non-event. All the power of the internet.”
